What Is Hyperhidrosis
Sweating is normal, the human body responds to changes in ambient temperatures. It helps to cool our body and thus protects it from overheating. However, if you sweat without any obvious reason and in a cold environment, you are likely to suffer from excessive sweating, called hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is a medical term for excessive sweating, which causes intense sweating even in situations when you expect it least. Most often, it occurs in the palms, armpits, feet, head, back, and genitals.
How do I know I suffer from hyperhidrosis? If you have ever feared to shake hands with someone because your palm was too damp, it's not a good sign. Such a damp greeting can ruin many first impressions. If your socks are constantly wet, it is very likely your skin can be attacked by fungal infections, which thrive in damp environments. A sweat-soaked shirt or blouse is definitely not going to make a good impression, and the same is true about smelly shoes. If you have to take a shower all the time and wipe your hands whenever you can, than you suffer from hyperhidrosis.
